Ostomy Toronto Newsletter | May 2023
President's Report
May 2023

I hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather - finally past the rain and chilly weather!

We will have our next zoom meeting on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 7:30pm. It is an open forum meeting - all are welcome to attend!

A reminder that Ostomy Toronto will be on Summer Break for June & July: meetings and newsletters will be on hiatus but back in August. Keep an eye out for email notifications announcing summer news and activities, and stay tuned to our social media during the summer months! Our lines of communication will still be open, so please continue to reach out, however keep in mind it may take a little longer to respond.

Ostomy Toronto in partnership with Original Riderz Motorcycle Riding Club will be hosting the
Second Annual Ostomy Awareness Motorcycle Ride on September 9, 2023. There will be a BBQ after the ride - all the money raised will go to the Ostomy Canada Youth Camp. The ride starts at Toronto West Campground in Milton, and then back to the camp for BBQ following the ride. Even if you aren't able to attend, you can still donate to the ride. Ostomy Toronto would like to thank Toronto West Campground for hosting the event again this year! We will send an email reminder through the summer with updates and information.

And finally, as the summer weather sets in, we'd like to remind you about Ostomy Toronto's Day Camp Program: if you know any kids under the age of 18 with any type of ostomy, Ostomy Toronto will pay up to $1000 for any day camp they choose. We are hoping that parents will take advantage of this opportunity, sponsored by OLG and The City of Toronto.

I hope everyone has a great and safe summer!
Thanks
Jim Fitzgerald
