Well if I believe the groundhog we should have an early spring - the way the weather has been, the little rodent might be right! We have really had a very mild winter in terms of temperature and snow. I have already seen a few motorcycles on the road, but it's still a little bit early for myself.
This month we will have two meetings:
The first meeting is Tuesday, February 13 at 7:30pm. We have guest speaker Nickie Blake from Convatec doing a manufacturer's night, and she will go through some of their products and answer any questions you may have.
Our Peer Support Meeting takes place Tuesday, February 27 at 7:30pm.
As I have mentioned, late last year Ostomy Toronto donated 10k to 2 Toronto food banks. When I had met them the previous year, I was shocked at how many people have to use food banks - yet they told me that in 2023 the demand has doubled to about 4600 families a week! I can only imagine how many people have to choose between buying ostomy supplies or food. It is a very sad reality in Canada so this is all the more reason to support the food banks like we have, and will most likely continue donating to these great causes.
I hope everyone is doing well and keeping healthy.
Thanks for your support
Jim Fitzgerald
